US textile and apparel imports exceeded 10 billion USD for the sixth month in a row

US offline consumption continued to be strong in Jan 2022. The latest data showed that US textile and apparel imports value in Jan 2022 increased to 10.19billion USD, up by 28% year-on-year, exceeding 10 billion USD for the sixth month in a row. The imports volume reached 8.59 billion m2, up by 38.1% year-on-year. US apparel imports value in Jan 2022 rose to 7.54 billion USD, up by 36.6% year-on-year and the imports volume reached 2.614 billion m2, up by 22.5% year-on-year.     The US textile and apparel imports volume from China in Jan 2022 increased to 3.13billion m2, up by 12% year-on-year. The imports value reached 2.9billion USD, up by 33% year-on-year. US apparel imports value from China in Jan 2022 rose to 1.91 billion USD, up by 47.1% year-on-year and the imports volume reached 1 billion m2, up by 25.2% year-on-year.       From the monthly data, the US textile and apparel imports from China saw a monthly improvement, an increase in month-on-month, but there was still a big decline compared with 2019.       In terms of unit price, US apparel imports average unit price was still in a large rise cycle. Because of seasonal factors, there were ups and downs in some months, but the overall still showed upward, reflecting the market inflation.
