Cotton yarn imports by origin and counts     Counts Imports in June(mt) Imports in July(mt) Proportion Carded yarns with less than 8 counts 13,253 10,336 17.62% Carded yarns with 8-25 counts 59,657 38,032 64.83% Carded yarns with 25-30 counts 4,846 1,381 2.35% Carded yarns with 30-47 counts 10,965 1,837 3.13% Combed yarns with 8-25 counts 2,361 2,024 3.45% Combed yarns with 25-30 counts 1,242 1,217 2.07% Combed yarns with 30-47 counts 1,976 1,729 2.95% Others 2,943 2,112 3.60%   Analyzing from the origins of imported cotton yarns in July, although the total amount slipped sharply, the proportion of Vietnamese yarn still rose slightly to 60%, and Pakistani yarn continued to occupy the second place with a proportion of 15%. Malaysian imported yarn rose to the third one and accounted for 7% due to slight falling range. Meanwhile, specification proportion of cotton yarn arrivals also changed. The arrivals of combed yarn have fluctuated little on the whole while the arrivals of carded yarns with different counts all dropped greatly. The arrivals of yarn with 30-47 counts changed most dramatically as the arrivals shrank 80% m-o-m and only reached 1,837mt. It can also be seen from structure change of count that imported carded yarns with 32 counts and the count above that were mostly possible to be replaced by domestic yarn due to price disadvantages.
